Last week saw the third annual Conor Wilmot Colours Match take place in glorious sunshine in St. Senans RFC.
This year marks the third iteration of the event which is held in memory of Conor Wilmot, a young up and coming player that suddenly passed away in 2017.
There were three schools in attendance on the day from the surrounding areas; St Patrick’s Comprehensive, St. Joseph’s Tulla and St. Caimin’s.
This year also saw the introduction of a girls game for the very first time as St. Patrick’s faced off with St. Caimin’s.

St. Patrick’s were this year’s winners and were presented with the trophy by members of the Wilmot family.
Speaking about the event Munster Rugby Development Officer Gerry Casey said:
“It was an absolutely fantastic day with some great rugby on display. Credit has to go to Fran Duggan, who would have coached Conor a number of years back, for the event he has organised these past three years.”
“It great to see the event continue to grow and flourish, which you can see this year with the inclusion of the girls game. But most importantly it’s forging the connections between the local schools and St. Senans RFC and encouraging the growth of rugby in the Clare region.”
St. Senans would also like to thank event sponsors Zimmer Biomet for all of the support on the day.
