Ard Scoil Ris Cause Major Upset in Schools Junior Cup

A big shock at Rosbrien as Ard Scoil Ris defeated P.B.C. in their opening game of the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Junior Cup.

Ard Scoil Ris 15, P.B.C. 5

The game only came to life after twenty minutes when Ard Scoil Ris took the lead with a penalty from out half Stephen Fitzgerald.

Conor Flanagan was off target with two penalty attempts on 23 and 27 minutes.

Pres’ hooker Ben Murphy did get in for a try on twenty six minutes but referee Arthur Ryan brought play back for a knock on and the Limerick side held on for a 3-0 interval lead.

A red card to Pres’ hooker Ben Murphy two minutes into the second half changed the game and Ard Scoil Ris took full advantage.

Shane Fenton scored a try and Fitzgerald converted. Scrum half Robbie Deegan got in for a second try for the Limerick School.
