All Ireland League Roundup
5th October 2025 By Leonard Allen

Cork Constitution got their All-Ireland League campaign back on track with a home win, while Highfield, Old Crescent, U.L. Bohemian and Thomond recorded back-to-back wins after the second round of results, while U.L. Bohemian defeated arch rivals Railway Union in the Women’s All Ireland League.
Despite falling behind 7-0 after two minutes at Temple Hill, Cork Constitution recorded a convincing 42-14 home win against Terenure College in Division 1A. Jack Kelleher scored two of their six tries, with Sean Duffy, Danny Sheahan, Dylan Hicks and Peter Hyland getting one apiece. Hicks converted all six tries.
A slow start for the second successive week, saw Young Munster lose 15-8 at home to St. Mary’s College. The visitors led 12-0 at the interval and a try from Hubert Gilvary and a Shane O’Leary penalty was not enough for the home side.
A promising opening half that saw Nenagh Ormond lead U.C.D. 17-7 at The Bowl, saw the Dublin students rally after the break for a 45-22 victory. Angus Blackmore, Dylan Murphy and John O’Flaherty score tries for the Tipperary side. Both were converted by Conor McMahon, and he also added a penalty.
In Division 1B, Highfield had an impressive 27-15 bonus point win over Blackrock College at Stradbrook. Mark Dorgan scored two tries and Nicky Greene and David O’Sullivan got one each. Shane Buckley converted two of the tries and Shane O’Riordan added a penalty.
Instonians went clear at the top after their 31-17 win over U.C.C. at the Mardyke. Stephen O’Shaughnessy and Kamil Novak scored tries for U.C.C. and Harry Murphy kicked a conversion.
Garryowen kept their unbeaten record, when they shared the spoils in Belfast with Queens University in a 17-17 draw. Max Clein, Des Fitzgerald and Will Hayes scored tries for the Limerick side and Tom Wood kicked a conversion.
Old Crescent made it two wins from two with an 18-10 away win at Cashel. Stephen Kiely, Aaron Cosgrove and Dan Hurley were Crescent’s try scorers, and Jeff Williams kicked a penalty. Cashel replied with a try from Michael Treacy and John O’Sullivan converted and also added a penalty.
Shannon lost for the second week in a row, when they were defeated by M.U. Barnhall at Parsonstown 24-17. Cian McCann and Matt Te Pou were Shannon’s try scorers; both were converted by Cillian O’Connor and Jamir Gavin kicked a penalty.
U.L. Bohemian made it two bonus point wins from two, when they defeated Skerries 24-17 at the UL Arena. Killian Dineen, Paul Clancy, Jordan Mills and Jack Considine scored tries for the winners and two were converted by Oisin Fagan.
Thomond are now top in Division2C, following their 29-5 away win at Ballyclare. Sam Birrane, Ryain Ahern, Jake Connolly and Colin Slater scored tries for Thomond and Evan Cusack kicked three conversions and a penalty.
Dolphin bounced back from last week’s defeat in Belfast with a 32-19 win against Clonmel at Virgin Media Park. Liam Ormond, Sam Boyle, Brian O’Mahony, Richie Heaslip, and Jamie Vaughan scored tries for the Cork side and Hunter Yarrell kicked two conversions and a penalty. Mick Connellan, Brandon Delicato and Jack Walsh replied with tries for Clonmel and Josef O’Connor kicked two conversions.
Bruff were 28-19 home winners against Monkstown, Paul Collins, Kieran O’Dwyer, Patricio Neheun and Andrew Byrne were Bruff’s try scorers and all four were converted by Collins.
A try by Johannes Du Toit which Seamus Lyne converted was not enough for Midleton who lost 22-7 away to Bective Rangers.
U.L. Bohemian inflicted a second successive defeat on Railway Union, when they defeated the Dublin side 44-17 at Annacotty in the Women’s All Ireland League. Alana McInerney scored a hat trick of tries, skipper Chloe Pearce two, and Catriona Finn, Eilis Cahill and Kate Flannery got one each. Finn kicked two conversions.
