All Ireland League Roundup

It was a great day for the majority of the Limerick clubs in the All Ireland League, with only one side failing to win.
Young Munster got themselves back into the play-off positions of the Men’s All Ireland League after their 37-20 home win over Terenure College. Bailey Faloon, Stephen McLoughlin, Leo Langbridge, Jake O’Riordan and Oisin Pepper scored the Young Munster tries and Shane O’Leary kicked three conversions and two penalties to move the Limerick side into third place.
Despite losing 18-12 away to Old Belvedere, Cork Constitution remain in fourth place, level on points with Young Munster and a point ahead of Lansdowne. Luke Masters and Danny Sheahan scored tries for Con’ and Dylan Hicks kicked a conversion.
Nenagh Ormond lost 35-24 away to leaders Clontarf. Willie Coffey, Matt Burke and Angus Blackmore scored tries for Nenagh and James Finn converted all three tries and added a penalty.
In Division 1B, despite defeating Dublin University 21-17 at Woodleigh Park, Highfield have dropped to fifth position in the table. Nicky Greene scored two tries for the winners and Adam Murphy also got a try. All three were converted by Shane O’Riordan.
Garryowen moved up to sixth place but are nine points behind Highfield after their 28-14 away win against Naas. All the scores came in the opening half, with Finn McCall, Rory Woods, Jack Dowling and Alan Fitzgerald scoring tries. Lachlan Stewart converted all four tries.
A try by David Nowak for UCC was not enough for the students who lost 26-5 away to City of Armagh.
Shannon maintained their challenge for promotion in Division 2A with a 34-17 home win against fellow promotion contenders Wanderers. Neil Cronin, Cillian O’Connor, Adam Moloney and Cian McCann scored tries for Shannon and O’Connor kicked four conversion two penalties.
Cashel eased their relegation worries with a 12-5 home win over Galway Corinthians. Joe Lawrence and Philly Ryan scored tries for Cashel and Ryan O’Sullivan added a conversion.
A last minute converted try denied Old Crescent victory away to Dungannon, as they lost 17-13. A try from Oisin Toland and a conversion and two penalties by John Hurley were the Crescent side’s scorers.
U.L. Bohemian took another step towards the play-offs in Division 2B after their 40-17 bonus point home win against Malone. Darragh O’Gorman, Paul Clancy Darren Ferrar (2), Donnacha O’Callaghan and Joe Johnson were the “Robins” try scorers and Cian Casey kicked five conversions.
Thomond have extended their lead at the top of Division 2C after their hard earned 13-11 away win in Midleton. Riann O’Dwyer scored Thomond’s try and Evan Cusack converted and also added two penalties. William Meyer replied with a try for Midleton and Seamus Lyne kicked two penalties.
A last minute try from Michael Frawley converted by Paul Clancy gave Bruff a 19-18 home victory against second placed Clonmel. Collins also kicked four penalties. Josef O’Connor and Brandon Delicato replied with tries for Clonmel and O’Connor kicked two penalties and a conversion.
Dolphin eased their relegation worries with a 36-14 home win against Monkstown. Richie Heaslip scored two tries for Dolphin, and Karl Waterman, Sam Boyle, Cameron O’Shaughnessy and Dalton O’Shaughnessy were Dolphin’s other try scorers. Hunter Yarrell kicked three conversions.
U.L. Bohemian maintained their unbeaten run in the Women’s All Ireland League with a 41-7 home win against Tullow. Substitute Maddy Kusner scored two tries for the League leaders and Mary Maher, Lily Brady, Chloe Pearce, Ciara O’Dwyer and Claire Bennett got one each. Éabha Nic Dhonnacha kicked three conversions.
Second placed Blackrock College kept up their challenge with a 38-12 away win in Ennis. Annie Lynch and Orna Moynihan scored tries for Ennis and Megan O’Connor kicked a conversion.
Ballincollig defeated Tullow 19-5 in a game that was transferred to Fethard Town Park. Emma Connolly, Vivienne O’Donovan and Awatere McLean-Wanoa scored tries for Ballincollig and Connolly added two conversions.
