They were several Munster derby games down for decision which ended even with two wins for North Munster sides and two for the South with one game postponed.

In the big game of the day at Coonagh, Cork Constitution snatched a dramatic victory with a penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time by Scott Deasy for a 9-8 win over Shannon.
Two penalties by Deasy gave the visitors a 6-0 lead but a try by Stephen Kelly left the home side trailing by a point at the interval. Tadhg Bennett put Shannon in front with a penalty but it was not enough to give the Limerick side their third win of the campaign.

There was also an exciting finish at Musgrave Park when a thirty meter drop goal by Fergal Lawlor two minutes from time earned U.L. Bohemian a 3-0 win over Dolphin.
In a very disappointing opening half Dolphin upped the ante after the break but were unable to penetrate a solid visitors defence.

Garryowen are now bottom of Division 1A after their 18-3 defeat by Clontarf at Dooradoyle. The Dublin side dominated the opening half and led 18-0 at the interval and Garryowen’s only response after the break was a penalty from Conor Murray.

In Division 1B Young Munster maintained their promotion push with a 14-10 victory over U.C.C. at Clifford Park.
Alan Kingsley kicked a drop goal and penalty to leave the “Cookies” 6-0 ahead at the short whistle. Andrew Burke opened the students account with a penalty, but a try by Ger Slattery and a Kingsley penalty extended the home side’s advantage. A late try by skipper Ivan Dineen and a conversion by Burke secured a losing bonus point for the College.

Bruff kept their promotion prospects alive when they shared the spoils at Kilballyowen Park with a 15-15 draw with fellow promotion contenders DLSP.
Tries by Curtin and John Shine and a conversion and penalty by Brian Cahill were the home side’s scorers.

The Clonakilty v Thomond tie was postponed and this has seen Thomond slip down to sixth place in the table.

Clonakilty are second last and Old Crescent who are level on points with the West Cork side but have a better points difference despite their 21-9 home defeat by U.C.D. Mark Woods kicked three penalties for the home side.

Highfield still remain in relegation trouble after their narrow 11-10 defeat away to Bective Rangers.

In Division Three Midleton maintained their position at the top with a 6-3 win over Nenagh Ormond at the Towns Park. David Delaney gave the Tipperary side a 3-0 lead at half time. Two penalties by Jeff Hitchmough earned the home side the points.

Sunday’s Well recorded a surprise 11-6 win over Barnhall at Parsonstown. The Kildare side led 6-5 at the break with two penalties from Leo Quinn to a try by Danny O’Shea. The ‘Well replacement out half O’Shea who was in for the unavailable Eamon Ronan added a penalty and drop goal in teh second half to secure the points for the visitors.
