A 32-player Ireland Under-19 Men’s squad (sponsored by PwC) has been selected to attend the upcoming national camp at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Blanchardstown.
The Dublin get-together will take place between December 28 and 30, and gives new Ireland U-19 head coach Aiden McNulty, and his assistants Jonathon Graham, Tommy O’Donnell, and Niall Annett, the chance to work closely with the group ahead of their 2026 matches.
The extended squad includes 21 players who toured South Africa with the Ireland Under-18 Schools side for last August’s U-18 Men’s International Series. Amongst them is Belvedere College prop Harry Goslin who captained his country twice in Paarl.
Some of those players have since graduated to playing in the Energia All-Ireland League, including flanker Jon Rodgers with Ballynahinch, Garryowen’s Fionn Rowsome and Daniel O’Connell, and Alex Lautsou who has played for both Shannon and Munster ‘A’.
IQ Rugby scrum half Fergus Callington is part of the selection, fresh from making his Ireland U-20 debut off the bench against South Africa in Cork last month.
Callington came through the Ireland U-18 Clubs pathway last season, and was involved with Ulster in this year’s PwC Under-19 Interprovincial Championship.
Two of the Ireland U-19 call-ups have been impressing for City of Armagh of late, with out-half Owen O’Kane scoring 59 points so far in the All-Ireland League and lock Noah Bell notching four tries, a tally matched by Blackrock College winger Harry Waters.
The newly-announced U-19 national group also features Cory O’Connor, who captained the Leinster Under-19s to the PwC U-19 Interprovincial title this year, and his provincial half-back partner, Sean McDonald.
McNulty has called up two other IQ Rugby youngsters in Harvey Leonard, who played with the Ireland U-18 Clubs side last year, and Hudson Nevin. Both players were part of the IQ Rugby squad’s provincial tour in the summer.
