Munster Rugby are inviting applications for the position of Honorary Secretary of the Munster Branch.
A voluntary position, suitable candidates are selected and nominated by a club and sent to the Chairman of the Governance and Nominations Committee.
Applications will be assessed by the Governance and Nominations Committee (GNC) and a panel drawn up for interview. The GNC will make a recommendation/s to the Board, for approval or otherwise. If / when approved by the Board, candidate(s) will be forwarded to the Branch Committee for election by vote and ratification.
The Honorary Secretary is elected for a term of four years, subject to annual review and can then be re-elected, on an annual basis.
Brief Outline
The Honorary Secretary will manage all Governance affairs for and on behalf of the Branch Committee in accordance with the Branch Bye laws. He/she will Liaison between clubs / schools and the Branch and / or its various Committees / sub-committees as necessary and have responsibility for all administrative affairs of the Branch, excluding financial affairs.
Requirements
• A strong working knowledge of the Munster Branch of the IRFU and the Rules & Regulations pertaining to the amateur game is essential
• A working knowledge of the Bye Laws and Governance of the Munster Branch of the IRFU are essential
• Excellent administration, people management skills are necessary
• Competency with IT, report writing and organizational skills vital
• This can be a demanding role and can require up to 20 hours commitment per week
• Available to meet staff in the Cork office regularly

• Strong communication – written and verbal essential
• Ability to manage, influence and communicate with a variety of stakeholder’s key
• Administration and logistical skills desirable
• As you will be dealing with commercially sensitive information, discretion and confidentiality are key
• You will need to be proactive, organized and have a very strong ability to plan and organize to ensure schedules and deadlines are met
• You will need to be forward thinking and innovative with strong problem solving experience
