The Vodafone Interprovincial trophy will return to Munster after a dominant display proved too much for titleholders Leinster as they are defeated 50-15.

It was a thrilling opening half of rugby for Munster as Caitríona Finn kicked off proceedings with a penalty in the seventh minute.

Chloe Pearse was next to get scores on the board as she was sent over after an unbelievable 50:22 from Kate Flannery. Finn followed with the extras.

Hooker Deirbhile Nic a Bháird was next over the white wash as she dove over in the 18th minute with Finn slicing the uprights with the conversion.

Full back Aoife Corey was next to cross over in the 24th minute after being set up by an Alana McInerney line break. Finn added to the tally with her conversion.

Nic a Bháird was in for her second try of the afternoon in the 35th minute to bring the score at half time to 31-0.

Captain Maeve Óg O’Leary opened up scoring in the second half as she drove over in the 43rd minute for yet another converted try.

Centre Caitríona Finn was next to dive over and convert her own try.

A drive from Eilis Cahill broke the 50 point mark for Munster in the 55th minute.

Leinster drove over for their first try of the afternoon in the 63rd minute through Katie Whelan.

It was a fast and furious final quarter of action as Leinster scored a further two tries to bring the final score to 50-15.
