Munster return to Guinness PRO14 action this Friday as they face Interprovincial rivals Connacht at the Sportsground (ko 7.35pm).

After back to back wins in Europe, Connacht now sit top of Pool 5 in the Challenge Cup, hoping to continue their run of form after a mixed start to their PRO14 season.

The westerners opened their European campaign away to Oyonnax where they came away 15-43 bonus point winners in eastern France.  While in round 2 the men in green faced Worcester Warriors in Galway, producing a much closer encounter which finished 15-8 in favour of Kieran Keane’s men.

Although Munster achieved the season’s double over Connacht last year, reversing the trend of the 2015/16 campaign, the western province will be looking to build on recent performances in front of their home support.

With Finlay Bealham, Ultan Dillane and John Muldoon expected to return both sides are putting the plans in place for a typical derby battle.
