In Pics: Preparing For Ospreys

Take a behind the scenes look at yesterday’s squad session in UL, plus get the pre-match thoughts of Assistant Coach Brian Walsh, as Munster prepare for Sunday’s Guinness PRO12 clash against Ospreys in Cork – KO 5pm.

In previewing the game, Walsh said, “The PRO12 is going to be ultra-competitive from here till the end of the season.  There is no PRO12 team in the knock out stages of the Champions Cup so they are all focusing on one goal and that makes for a very tough run of fixtures.

“Looking at Ospreys, they are not used to being down where they are (6th), nor are Glasgow (8th) and we have both teams back-to-back across the next couple of weekends.  They will be tough but it’s very important that we maintain winning ways with our internationals away.  The challenge starts this weekend in Cork against a very good Ospreys outfit.  It will be difficult but we are happy with where we are in preparations this week and hopefully we’ll bring a performance on Sunday.

“Despite some injuries and the internationals being away, we have a lot of confidence in the guys that are coming in.  Andrew Conway is back from injury and Darren Sweetnam for example did really well against Zebre and hopefully now he can push on.  Ronan O’Mahony and the Scannell brothers Rory and Niall are among others who have impressed of late.  It’s through these times that we find out a lot more about the younger guys and we hope that we’ll see another one or two bolters in the coming weeks.”
