Following training, Head Coach Anthony Foley spoke with media and looked ahead to the Guinness PRO12 Round 16 encounter in Cork.

“The good thing from our perspective is it’s a home fixture for us and it’s important that we turn up and put in a performance. I think that all the players are looking forward to the game. Obviously Glasgow and ourselves have met a couple of times – they knocked us out in the semi last year. It’s important that we know how good they are, even though both sides have bodies away. That’s all part and parcel of this stage in the season. We have to make do with what we have and they’ll do the same. When you look at the quality of the performances over the last few weeks from us, and you look at what Glasgow did to Zebre, and their very hard fought win over Ospreys, there’s a lot of quality out on the pitch which should lead to a very good game.

“The big danger is that Warriors get their game going – they get the off-loading, high-tempo game with Matawalu and all of them just running riot. They have the potential to do that. It’s about us controlling that, and being able to play the game at a tempo that suits us.”

Saturday night’s fixture under lights will also mark the official opening of the newly redeveloped Irish Independent Park.

“In our first game here two weeks ago against Cardiff Blues, I thought the crowd, despite a fixture clash with Ireland, came in and made their opinions felt, got in behind the team and supported the boy. Hopefully at the weekend, with the official opening, the whole stadium will erupt when the boys run out onto the pitch and everyone gets behind them to make a great occasion. However, we have to give our supporters something to cheer about, and that is our preparation for this weekend – making sure we get ourselves sorted and make sure we can go out and give ourselves a chance to perform.”
