In Pics: Preparations For Connacht

See the shots as Munster prepare for their second interprovincial derby in less than a week – away to Connacht at the Sportsground, Galway on New Year’s Day, kick-off 5pm.

Speaking after training, Munster out half and former Connacht player Ian Keatley looked ahead to a return to Galway on Thursday.

“I’m looking forward to it, I have a lot of friends up there and I even worked with Dan McFarland (Connacht Assistant Coach) during the summer at the Nations Cup (Emerging Ireland). It will be good to go back, their supporters are really great people and it will be another tough, physical derby clash with plenty to shout for.”

While in-form loosehead John Ryan knows this week’s clash represents another big ask if Munster are to maintain winning ways.

“They have a very strong scrum, best scrum in the league statistically so it’s something that we’ll be working hard on this week in training and there’s no doubt it will be a massive challenge for us on New Year’s Day.”
