In Pics: Preparations Continue For Huge Weekend

The Munster players gathered in Limerick yesterday for the first field session of the week as both the Champions Cup and B&I Cup squads prepare for a huge weekend for the province.

The Munster A side are in action on Saturday for their final round game of the B&I Cup in a must-win away game to Moseley RFC. Warriors' defeat of Munster at CIT guaranteed the Englishmen knock-out qualification from pool 3 while Munster’s hopes are reliant on qualifying as one of the three best runners up at this stage. All round six matches will kick-off at 2pm.

The Champions Cup squad will depart from Shannon airport on Saturday as they travel to take on Clermont Auvergne on Sunday at Stade Marcel-Michelin. The pool 1 game kicks off at 4.15pm in France (3.15pm Irish time).

Head Coach Anthony Foley met with the media yesterday in the Castletroy Park Hotel, and looking ahead to the challenge of securing vital points away he said, "Clermont are a very good side and we’ve recognised that all along. They are very threatening and we understand where we need to get to.

“You lose to a side like that when you’re not good enough, and you can’t expect to win if not on top of your game. We need to push for standards that we know we have. This group was always one of high quality, it is difficult, and we appreciate that. But we’re half-time in this fixture and we need to put in a performance at the weekend.”
