Getting To Know Robin Copeland

Getting To Know Robin Copeland

In the week that he scored his first try for the province, find out more about the Wexford native who has made quite the impact since his arrival in the province.

A former member of the Leinster Academy, Copeland began a two year contract with Munster in July, joining from the Cardiff Blues where he made 53 appearances. Before his move back to Ireland, the number 8 became acquainted with a number of his new Munster team-mates when he was included in the Emerging Ireland squad for the 2014 Nations Cup. The Irishmen went on to win the competition with Copeland subsequently named Player of the Tournament.

Impressing throughout pre-season, his first outing in the red of Munster came against London Irish in the 2014 SEAT Challenge at the Waterford RSC in August, followed by his competitive debut a couple of weeks later away to Benetton Treviso in the Guinness PRO12.

To date, the former St Mary’s College player has played over 200 minutes of competitive rugby for Munster. A strong and dynamic number 8, his first Munster try against Leinster last weekend served as just reward for his high work rate so far this season.
