Despite an early opening try from Gerhard van den Heever, Jeff Hassler touched down just minutes later for Ospreys and the accurate boot of Dan Biggar was to prove decisive in the game as he landed all four penalties presented to him on the night.

The bonus point loss leaves Munster 6^th on the table, just one point next weekend’s opposition at the Aviva Stadium – Leinster.

Speaking after the game, captain Conor Murray reflected on the result and looked ahead to next weekend’s interprovincial derby.

“We are hugely disappointed. As good as Ospreys are we still need to be able to get up for these home games and put a performance together. We seem to be making the same mistakes consistently – it’s not good enough and it needs to come right quite quickly, and there’s no better week to get them right than against Leinster.
“It’s going to be a long and frustrating week in training but we have a huge game to look forward to at the AVIVA to try and get things right.”
