First Meets Fifth At Thomond

In what is arguably the tie of the weekend, fifth plays host to first as Munster welcome Ospreys to Thomond Park for Round 4 of the Guinness PRO12 this Saturday, KO 6:30pm.

Ospreys come to Limerick riding high at the top of the Guinness PRO12 table and are one of only three teams still maintaining a 100% winning record, along with Glasgow Warriors and Connacht. The Welshmen will hope to make it three consecutive wins over Irish provinces for the first time since February 2013.

However, Munster have recovered well from an opening home defeat to Edinburgh with back to back wins over Italian opposition, the second of which (against Zebre) yielded them their first bonus point victory of the campaign. Anthony Foley’s men will look to make it three wins in a row for the first time since February as they bid to move up from 5th position on the table.

Incidentally, Rhys Webb’s second minute try for Ospreys in their victory over Edinburgh on Sunday was the fastest scored in the Guinness PRO12 so far this season, whilst Simon Zebo became just the 4th player to score a first-half hat trick in the history of the competition.

Zebo and Webb (along with Gareth Davies of Scarlets) are also the PRO12's joint top try scorers so far this season on 4 tries each.

Munster v Ospreys, Guinness PRO12 Round 4, Saturday September 27th, Thomond Park. KO 6:30pm.

Tickets from €;20 for adults and €;40 for families can be purchased online here.
