Vacancy: Connacht Rugby Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach – Lead

The IRFU are currently accepting applications for the position of Academy S&C Coach, based in Connacht.

As an integral part of the CBIRFU rugby operations, the Academy S&C Coach will lead on all aspects of Academy S&C and be required to fulfil the following main duties:

  • Coordinate and deliver strength and conditioning support for the Connacht Academy and Sub Academy.
  • Coordinate and deliver fitness testing according to the CBIRFU test protocols and timetable for the Connacht Academy and Sub Academy.
  • Contribute to the overall performance of the Connacht Fitness department across all levels of delivery.


The successful candidate will have an excellent and verifiable record of programme design and delivery of physical development programmes for adolescent and adult rugby players with communication, organisational, interpersonal and teamwork skills. A minimum of three years’ experience in a professional rugby environment is essential. A Degree and recognised S&C Accreditation are required.
