Squad Update

The Munster squad will stay overnight in Limerick tonight as preparations continue for Saturday’s RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park.

The game kicks off at 7:15pm with Ireland in action earlier in the day with Wales the visitors to the Aviva Stadium in the Six Nations at 2:30pm.

Munster A are in action this Friday as they travel to the Sportsgrounds to take on Connacht Eagles in an Interprovincial clash.

Munster captain Peter O’Mahony and Conor Murray started in yesterday’s impressive 28-6 win over Scotland at the Aviva Stadium with Tommy O’Donnell coming off the bench to make his Six Nations debut.

Ireland captain Paul O’Connell was a late withdrawal with a chest infection but Ireland Head Coach Joe Schmidt has said that he's confident O'Connell will be back to full fitness tomorrow.

There were a number of Greencore Munster academy and sub-academy players involved for the Irish U20s as they overcame their Scottish counterparts on a 34-7 scoreline on Friday night.

UL Bohemians number 8 Jack O'Donoghue scored two tries in a man-of-the-match performance. Cork Con duo Max Abbott and Rory Burke started in the front-row. Young Munster centre Dan Goggin and Bruff scrum-half Jack Cullen both contributed off the bench in a dominant performance.

In the All-Ireland League, Munster's Ronan O’Mahony played as Garryowen secured their first win of the season at Dooradoyle against Ballynahinch. Greencore academy player Harry McNulty touched down for Garryowen with Shane Buckley also starting.

Gerry Hurley kicked nine points for Cork Con as they edged past Clontarf 9-8 with academy player Niall Kenneally also in the Con’ starting XV.
