Limerick Charity Cup round-up by Cormac Liddy

Shannon 16
Young Munster 13

Shannon won the early season bragging rights when they beat arch rivals Young Munster last Saturday in the semi-final of the Limerick Charity Cup at Coonagh. They will meet UL-Bohemian in the final.

Dave O'Donovan had Shannon's only try which Rob Guerin converted and he also kicked two penalties with Tadhg Bennett also kicking a penalty.

Brian Haugh had a try and a penalty for Young Munster with Mike Madden getting a late touchdown but it was too little too late.

UL-Bohemian 20
Old Crescent 17

As this semi-final moved into added time Old Crescent looked like putting the holders out. But an 82nd minute try by Paul Bolger, converted by Derek Farrell gave the home side a flattering win at Annacotty.

Old Crescent led 14-3 at one stage but tries by Mossy Lawler and Ian Condell left only a point between them.

Farrell kicked an 18th minute penalty for UL Bohemian after Shane Mullally had been on target with Old Crescent penalties after 3, 9, and 14 minutes.

Sean Cunningham had a second half try and Mullaly added another penalty for Old Crescent.
