First Cap For Downey

James Downey will win his first international cap on Saturday when Ireland take on Canada in the BMO Field in Toronto.

Downey, who according to coach Les Kiss "has been sensational in training and will serve the gameplan very well," is paired in the centre with Darren Cave in a backline that also includes Felix Jones at full-back.

Up front there's a first start for Tommy O'Donnell who made his international debut off the bench last weekend against USA, though Dave Kilcoyne is relegated to the bench and there's no place in match day squad, once again captained by Peter O'Mahony, for Mike Sherry.

Canada v Ireland will be televised on TG4 with a 1am kick-off.

Ireland: F Jones; F McFadden, D Cave, J Downey, A Trimble; I Madigan, I Boss; T Court, R Strauss, M Ross; D Tuohy, D Toner; K McLaughlin, T O’Donnell, P O’Mahony (capt). Replacements: S Cronin, D Kilcoyne, D Fitzpatrick, M McCarthy, C Henry, P Marshall, P Jackson, R Henshaw.
