Lions Debut For Zebo?

Indications are that Simon Zebo may get a run out with the Lions when they play the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday.

Zebo arrived in Sydney yesterday from Houston Texas where he'd been with the Ireland squad and he was among the attendance at the Hunter Stadium for the Lions facile win over Combined NSW/Queensland Country at Newcastle's Hunter Stadium.

"Now that Simon's here, we'll try and involve him in some way and there's a good chance that he might be involved in the next two games." said Lions coach Warren Gatland who is is also insisting that his side go into the first Test with an unblemished record.

"We're undefeated and, if we can win the next two games and arrive at Brisbane still undefeated, it will be a good, positive frame of mind to arrive in,"

The possibility of Waratahs denting that positivity seem remote given they'll go into the clash at the Allianz Stadium without 17 of their 30 fully contracted players, 10 of whom are away with the Australian squad.

Waratahs – whose coaching team includes former Munster coach Alan Gaffney – with a side similar to what will run out on Saturday, defeated a full strength Western Force outfit 28-13 in Perth last Sunday.

Meanwhile in Toronto, a stomach bug has affected the Irish squad with several players placed in isolation at their Sheraton Hotel ahead of the game on Saturday against Canada at the BMO Field.

However, concerns have eased over the fitness of Peter O’Mahony (bruised elbow), Fergus McFadden (neck and head), Robbie Henshaw (shoulder) and Chris Henry (gash over eye) while the absence of both Jamie Cudmore (Clermont) and Glasgow Warrior DTH Van Der Merwe from the Canadian side can only be viewed as a positive.
