Opportunity Knocks?

Between those who are involved in the international on Sunday and those who are rehabbing injury the opportunity presents itself for squad members to put their hands up against Edinburgh in Musgrave Park on Saturday (7.45pm).

James Downey (rib), Doug Howlett (knee), Felix Jones (knee) and Stephen Archer (leg) are all injured while Casey Laulala is away in New Zealand at his brother's wedding and a decision on Luke O'Dea (hamstring) and Cathal Sheridan is not expected until after training Thursday though Sheridan did take part in the session in UL yesterday and is hopeful of being available.

Rob Penney admitted that, "at a push James could have taken part on Saturday" so he can be expected to be back sooner rather than later as is the case with Archer and O'Dea while Penney explained that Howlett and Jones were "recovering beautifully" from minor knee surgery.

Munster take on Edinburgh for the fourth time this season and given they've won three times already Penney was asked at the Press Briefing yesterday if complacency was a concern for him in the circumstances. "It always is." He answered frankly. "But as a group, both management and players, we've talked about what we want to achieve in this block (of Rabo games). And being complacent doesn't fit. So hopefully that won't occur."
