Five Changes For Costello’s Side

Munster’s British & Irish Cup squad coach Ian Costello, makes five changes from the side that started in Clifton Lane a week ago, for the return leg against Rotherham Titans at Musgrave Park tomorrow evening (6.30).

And one of those changes sees the former Titan Sean Dougall return to line up at openside wing-foward. Dougall had seven starts under his belt including two in the Heineken Cup for the senior side before a knee injury in the game against the Blues at The Arms Park sidelined him after an impressive start to his tenure with Munster.

The only other change in the pack sees Barry O'Mahony also return from injury to anchor the scrum, the front five remain the same with Sean Henry wearing the captain's armband.

In the backs, a knee injury takes Denis Hurley out so Johne Murphy swops the 11 jersey for the 15 with Ronan O'Mahony drafted in. While JJ Hanrahan, a late withdrawal from last week's game to provide cover for the senior side, is back in the number 10 jersey alongside Cathal Sheridan.

Munster lead this Pool on 13 points four clear of tomorrow's opponents but any ideas of complacency are dismissed by Defence Coach Mike Prendergast. "No I don't see any risk of that" he said after putting the squad through their paces in UL yesterday. "We've looked at our performance from last week and there are aspects of it that we weren't happy with. Obviously aspects we were delighted with. But the aim is to improve on that and that's the mindset we are taking into this game."

Munster: (British & Irish Cup v Rotherham Titans). Johne Murphy; Luke O'Dea, Danny Barnes, Ivan Dineen, Ronan O'Mahony; JJ Hanrahan, Cathal Sheridan; James Cronin, Sean Henry capt, John Ryan; Dave Foley, Ian Nagle; Brian Hayes, Sean Dougall, Barry O'Mahony. Replacements: Duncan Casey, Alan Cotter, Philip Donnellan, Ryan Murphy, Brian Slater, Scott Deasy, Darren Moroney.
