Munster opened their RaboDirect PRO12 campaign with an away win over Edinburgh and will face the Scottish side again in seven weeks time in round two of the Heineken Cup.
Munster scores came from Ian Keatley and Luke O'Dea with Greig Laidlaw and Tim Visser scoring for the home side.
