Moving Closer to a Golden Game

3rd November 2010 By Munster Rugby

Moving Closer to a Golden Game

The Qantas Wallabies have kicked off their 2010 Spring Tour with an opening win against the All Blacks, up next they face Wales, Leicester and England, and then all roads lead to Thomond Park for Munster v Australia in the Sony Ericsson Challenge on Tuesday November 16th, ko 8pm.

Australia are the first international touring side to come and play Munster since New Zealand visited in November 2008 for the reopening of Thomond Park Stadium.

On that occasion Munster lost 18-16 in a tight finish, however the occasion was a unique experience and unforgettable for those present and beyond, with over one million people watching it on RTE and many more tuning in around the world.

Australia are not playing against the national side on this tour and Tuesday November 16th is your only opportunity to see Australia play in Ireland this Autumn!

Enjoy the build up to a great occasion with Today Fm's Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show as they broadcast live from Thomond Park on the morning of Monday November 15th.  Ian and his team will be in the thick of the action and talking to a number of Munster players and management ahead of the big game.

Alternatively head to Thomond Park yourself for Breakfast with Munster and Australia.  Enjoy a questions and answers session with players and management from both the Munster and Australian teams over Monday morning breakfast in the spectacular surroundings of Thomond Park Stadium.  Hosted by Donal Lenihan, rugby fans will have the opportunity to pose their own questions to players and coaches of both sides.  More details for this event can be found here.

And for the main event – Munster v Australia, The Sony Ericsson Challenge, Thomond Park Stadium, ko 8pm – As well as a feast of rugby action on the pitch, the match entertainment should not be missed. Fans are encouraged to come early to enjoy the overall experience! Tickets are available for this game with more details here.

Highlights will include performances from The High Kings with Adam O'Sullivan – The platinum selling folk artists and eight year old Adam O'Sullivan from Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick will perform their current single “Whiskey in the Jar” on the pitch at half-time.  Regular performers at Munster's Heineken Cup games, The Celtic Tenors, will once again  lead the way with a rousing performance before kick-off and Cork born accordion legend and multi instrumentalist Liam O'Connor will perform with award winning Arcana.  All this and much more when Munster take on Australia in Thomond Park!
