Munster Delay Naming Squad.

Munster were expected to name their squad for the Magners League clash with Ulster today but have delayed that announcement until tomorrow.

There was a very threadbare look to the squad that assembled in a wet UL this afternoon with 21 players unavailable for the weekend.

Ten squad members are on the injured list, two are suspended and nine not released by the international management.

Three locks, Donncha O'Callaghan, Mick O'Driscoll and Donnacha Ryan, are included in that nine as is David Wallace and Keith Earls who have just three starts for Munster under their belts going into the November internationals.

However, team manager Shaun Payne believes that despite the absentees Munster will still put out a strong side on Friday. “I've said all along that this season we've perhaps our strongest squad and I certainly think that the side that we select for Friday will reflect that.”

The trio released back to Munster – John Hayes, Peter Stringer, Johne Murphy – all trained today and Stringer who is almost certain to start in the number 9 jersey in Belfast will become just the third Munster player to win 200 competitive caps for his province.
