Limerick City Park’s Department have been in contact with Munster Rugby and Thomond Park Stadium and wish to advise the following:
No vehicle may be parked on any City Council maintained green area at any time unless it is being used for authorised horticultural works and needs to be parked. There have been a number of instances of damage recorded to green areas as a result of the parking of private vehicles by motorists attending sports fixtures in the city. Twenty six warning signs have been erected in and around the most affected areas over the past nine months.
Both the Gardai and the City Council Traffic Management Department Staff issue fixed penalty notices in respect of such parking, and, where appropriate, vehicles are towed away as indicated on the signage. The Parks Department is therefore, requesting that motorists park legally, on a carriageway and with due consideration for local residents and access requirements when travelling to the fixture on Friday evening.
As always Munster Rugby wish to thank you for your continued support. Enjoy the game!
