Same again this time is the order of the day for James Hook

Same again this time is the order of the day for James Hook

“We’ve got a very good record against them (Munster) at home, and we got a vital win here last season that helped us towards the title so the same again this time is the order of the day.” says Ospreys Welsh international James Hook ahead of Sunday’s clash with Munster at the Liberty Stadium.

Hook will be back in club colours this weekend hoping that the occasion and a home victory will help him and his fellow RWC squaddies put the disappointment of the French campaign behind them, “Personally, I’m looking forward to getting back into action for the Ospreys, and I’m sure that the rest of the boys who have been away at the World Cup would say the same,” said Hook.

The ‘rest of the boys’ joining the Ospreys fly-half this weekend include Jonathan Thomas, Adam Jones, Duncan Jones, Sonny Parker, Shane Williams and Scotland’s Nikki Walker with only lock Alun Wyn Jones, who started in all of Wales’s World Cup clashes as well as the three August warm-up games,  missing from the Ospreys squad for Sunday.

Throw Ian Evans, Mike Phillips, Ian Gough and Huw Bennett, who blew the RWC cobwebs off when they played in the 13-13 draw with Edinburgh last Friday, into the mix and it’s clear that the Magners League champions, with just one victory to their name this season, are intent on getting their title defence back on track.

“Of course we’re all disappointed that we had to come home when we did,” said Hook, ” but what better way to show what we’re about than to help the Ospreys to a good result against a side like Munster. Another win would be a big boost to our confidence. As well as moving us up the table it will help us prepare for the challenges that lie ahead in the coming weeks.”
