John Kelly has been withdrawn from the Munster squad and will play no more rugby this season having sustained a broken nose and fractured cheekbone in the semi-final win over Leinster last weekend.

Kelly, who has been outstanding for Munster in recent months, had entertained notions of playing until it was diagnosed that he had indeed fractured a cheekbone.

Munster completed their preparation for Saturday’s Celtic Cup final with a morning training session at Musgrave Park.

Good news for Munster was that Ronan O’Gara once again took a complete part as did Shaun Payne and John Hayes all of whom picked up knocks against Leinster.
