Kinsale Sevens 2005

The Kinsale Sevens take place next weekend, with 80 teams competing in the Tournament. It promises to be a highly entertaining weekend, with plenty of quality players on display.

KINSALE SEVENS 2005

Following the hugely successful 2004 Sevens, the emphasis for 2005 is to make it an even better experience for players and visitors alike. This year’s Tournament, runs from Friday April 29th to Sunday May 1st, and will have prizes exceeding 20,000. This year’s event patrons are Jonathon Davies and Mick Galwey.

Friday Is a fun day for teams arriving early. It’s 10 aside, Kick off at 4pm approx.

Saturday At 10.00 am the first pool plays in the Senior Men’s and Ladies competitions kick off, followed by a knockout competition later in the afternoon. Trophies on the day and prize money for the Men’s competition. There is a trophy for the Ladies winners. Also starting at 10.00am, the Junior qualifiers are played with the top 16 teams going through to Sunday knockouts and some of the other teams will go through to the Plate competition. Play ends around 6.00pm, depending on number of teams entered.

Sunday Kicking off at 10.00am, there is another (separate from Saturday) Senior Mens and Ladies competition. Junior knockouts, finals and plate competition. Play ends usually around 5pm, again depending on number of teams entered. NB. The Plate competition in the Junior section, together with trophies for the winners, ensures that teams at all levels of skills and fitness have something to play for.

Over 80 teams will be competing for the various prizes which total 20,000 as well as many trophies
