Although nothing has been officially confirmed Munster believe that Paul O’Connell will receive the minimum sanction of two weeks for an incident last Saturday in Cardiff.

O’Connell appeared before a disciplinary committee which was chaired by Lorne Crerar (Scotland) at a London Heathrow hotel this morning and they viewed the incident from the Ireland v Wales game on video. The committee decided to impose the minimum sanction of two weeks on O’Connell.

The two week ban began on the day of the incident, Saturday March 19th, which means that O’Connell will be available to play for Munster against Biarritz in the Quarter Final of the Heineken Cup on Sunday April 3rd.
