The Irish colleges Interprovincial final takes place this Friday at the Railway union grounds in Dublin at 2.00pm. This year, Munster take on leinster in what promises to be an exciting final, judging by both teams success at semi-final stage and with the level of All Ireland League talent on view.

Munster, who will be contesting there second final under the stewardship of Donal Duggan(Thurles) hope to make up for losing out to Connacht last year and have put in a lot of preparatory work for this game. There are numerous colleges represented with the break down being 11 players from North Munster and 10 players from south Munster. Waterford also contributes 4 players to the panel.

A huge commitment has been shown at this level by the Munster Branch and the various clubs who are represented on the panel. A large support is expected from the province as the last remaining Munster team still involved at domestic level in Ireland seeks to conquer new ground and be successful in there bid to land the University of Limerick Concert hall Perpetual cup for third level Inter provincial rugby.

Bearing in mind that the team is captained by a player representing the University of Limerick ,scrumhalf Aidan Rees, it would be quiet appropriate that the honour of bringing back the trophy to Munster for the first time would fall on a player who has been instrumental in aiding both his college team and also his club team, UL Bohemians.

No Munster colleges team has been successful at this level so every effort will be made by the panel, it’s manager Donal Duggan and the teams coaches; Mr John Lambe and Mr Peter O’Dowd.
