Horgan Will Travel To Nottingham This Week For Surgery

Anthony Horgan will travel to Nottingham England this week for an operation on his shoulder at the weekend.

Anthony Horgan will travel to Nottingham England this week for an operation on his shoulder at the weekend.

Horgan underwent a scope last week to determine the extent of long term damage to his shoulder and it resulted in him requiring surgery to correct an unstable shoulder joint. The Munster management team are doing everything in their power to ensure that Anthony’s surgery and recovery is a comfortable and effective process that will see him back on the playing field as soon as possible.

He will travel to Park hospital in Nottingham England to meet with Professor Angus Wallace who will be overseeing Anthony’s operation. The Park hospital has in the past provided it’s facitities to many sports people who required similar treatment.

The reason for Anthony travelling to England is because of the time of year, and due to certain holiday periods, the facilities to perform the operation in Ireland would not have been available for another two weeks.

The operation will occur some time over the weekend and Anthony will travel back to Ireland in the middle of next week. It is anticipated that the recovery period for this type of operation is 5 to 6 months.

I am sure that everyone will join me in wishing Anthony a comfortable operation and a swift recovery!.
