Waterford City RFC was the host club for the very successful mini blitz held at the club last Sunday.
As well as the host club teams from Clonmel and Carrick on Suir contested the blitz. Fair play and fun was the order of the day and this was in evidence in abundance by the players and the mentors alike. All three clubs fielded teams from Under-8 to Under-12 and it is a credit to the clubs that all teams turned out in their club colours and tracksuits. The spirit of the game of rugby is alive and well in these three clubs.
In the most exciting development since the Club moved to Rosbrien over 35 years ago, Old Crescent RFC is purchasing land adjoining it's club grounds which will see the club grounds double in size, securing the future of rugby at Rosbrien for current and future generations.
Munster Rugby President, Bertie Smith, Munster players Jack O'Donoghue, Mike Sherry and David Kilcoyne along with representatives of the Munster Youths Committee, gathered in Thomond Park Stadium last night to launch the Bank Of Ireland Munster U18 and U16 Clubs Competition.
