Women’s Team Named For Ulster Interpro

The Munster Women’s team, sponsored by Keanes Jewellers, has been named for their opening round Interprovincial game against Ulster on Sunday in Belfast.

Head Coach Gary Walsh names a side that includes four new faces in the replacements with Leah Barbour, Kathryn Buggy, Ciara Griffin and Riona Kennedy all in line to get their first Munster cap at Interpro level if called upon. Griffin previously played with the Munster U18s squad.

The side is captained by the 2011/12 Munster Women’s Player of the Year Heather O’Brien and she is joined in the pack by the experienced former Munster and Ireland captain, number 8 Joy Neville.

Niamh Briggs makes a timely return from injury and is one of six UL Bohs representatives in the backline with Tralee’s Laura O’Mahony claiming the final place.
