Weekend Rugby Fixtures

It is all League action this weekend with games in Division 1 of the Ulster Bank league and a full program of Junior League Fixtures.

Shannon and UL Bohemian get proceedings underway as they meet for the second time in a month on a Friday evening in their basement clash in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League at Thomond Park. The corresponding fixture in early January was the Parish side’s only win to date, while a maximum point win for UL Bohemian would move them out of the relegation zone.

On Saturday Dolphin face a tricky task as they welcome leaders Lansdowne to Musgrave Park which kicks off at 3pm and Cork Constitution travel to Limerick to take on Garryowen and game has a 4pm start.

Young Munster entertain Old Belvedere in a mid-table clash at Tom Clifford Park.

In Division 1B Bruff will be looking to make the most of home advantage in a bid to move out of the danger zone as they take on Blackrock College at Kilballyowen Park and avenge their 6-3 defeat at Stradbrook a month ago.

There are two mid-table encounters in Division 2A as Old Crescent welcome Galwegians to Rosbrien and Cashel travel to Killiney to take on Seapoint.

The Munster Junior League resumes on Sunday and defending champions and Division 1 leaders Richmond will be aiming to move another step closer to retaining their title as they travel to Shannon to play St Senan’s.

Second-placed Kanturk will be looking to bounce back from last week’s All Ireland Junior Cup semi final defeat against Tullamore as they take on Cobh Pirates at the East Cork venue.

Tralee and Kilfeacle who are in joint fourth place go head to head at the Kerry venue and Newcastle West will be seeking to continue their good run as they welcome Waterpark to West Limerick.

Bottom side Crosshaven will have their work cut out as they entertain third-placed Skibbereen at the South Cork venue and fellow strugglers Clanwilliam are away to Old Christians.

St Mary’s are at home to Galbally in a mid-table clash.

In Division 2, leaders Muskerry will be looking to maintain their lead with a home win over Newport and second-placed Mallow are away to bottom side Dungarvan, with both sides looking for a bonus point victory.

Castleisland will be aiming to capitalize on the fact that near neighbours Killarney are free as they bid to regain third place with a home win over Kinsale.

Home advantage is vital for Thurles in their bid to avoid a second successive relegation as they take on Presentation.

Carrick-on-Suir will be seeking to build on their recent good run as they play Youghal at the East Cork venue.

Bandon are away to Ennis in a mid-table encounter.

Division 3 leaders Killorglin will be looking to move another step closer to their first promotion in the Junior League as they welcome Kilrush to Mid Kerry.

Martin O’Sullivan Cup finalists Waterford City and Abbeyfeale go head to head at Kilbarry and a win for City would spell the end of the West Limerick side’s outside hopes of promotion.

Third-placed Fermoy take on North Cork neighbours Charleville, who are propping up the table ahead of their deferred Junior Bowl encounter.

Ballincollig make the long trip to the Banner County to take on Scariff.
