Richmond’s hopes of playing in the All Ireland League next season are over for another season as the Limerick side lost at home to Skerries in their second game in the All Ireland Provincial League Championship.

Despite dominating for long periods Richmond failed to turn their superiority into scores as they lost at home to Skerries 19-7. The visitors led 11-7 at half time with Richmond being awarded a penalty try which Stephen Clancy converted.

Fermoy, who were defeated by Charleville 16-13 in the final of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup at the start of the season and by Killorglin 19-17 in the league a few weeks ago, got sweet revenge with an 11 -7 victory over Killorglin in the final of the Munster Junior Bowl at Woodleigh Park. Jeff Daly opened the scoring with a penalty for Fermoy and a try by John Roche made it 8-0. Darren Curtayne replied with a try for the Kerry side and Luke O’Shea converted to leave a point between the sides. Pat Lee added a penalty just before half time for an 11-7 interval lead. There was no further scoring in a hard fought second half as Fermoy held out for victory.

Presentation booked their place in the semi final of the Munster Junior Plate after a 24-20 win over Old Crescent at Rosbrien and will now be away to Abbeyfeale in two weeks time. Pres’ led 17-3 at half time with tries from Stephen Ryan and James Ryan and Mark Phayer converted both and also added a penalty. Craig Phayer scored a third try after the break and Mark Phayer converted.

Both Cork Constitution and Garryowen advanced to the semi finals of the Munster Seconds League. Cork Constitution defeated Bruff at Temple Hill 32-10. Tries by Shane Kelly and Alan Ross and a conversion by Sean Og Murphy had the home side 12-7 ahead at half time. Pat Lynch replied with a try for Bruff and Ritchie McAuliffe converted. Robert Clune added two tries for the home side after the break and Rogan Gee one with Murphy kicking a conversion and penalty. Bruff’s only reply was a penalty by McAuliffe.

Tries by Michael Cross and Kieran Sweeney and a conversion by Frank Kelleher were not enough for Cashel, who lost to Garryowen at Dooradoyle 29-12.

Midleton booked their place in the final of the Cork County Cup with an 18-16 away win over Cobh Pirates. A try by Mark Chandler and a conversion and penalty by Eoin Geary gave Cobh a 10-5 interval lead. Greg O’Sullivan scored Midleton’s try. Geary added two further penalties to two by Paul Daly but a last minute try by Gary Colbert converted by Daly saw the visitors book their place in the decider.

Crosshaven will face Kinsale in the other semi final after Crosshaven recorded a 17-5 home victory over Skibbereen. A try by Darren O’Keeffe converted by Daryl Foley had Crosshaven 7-0 ahead at half time. Chris Lordan scored a second try for the winners and Foley converted and also added a penalty. Sean O’Neill replied with a try for Skibbereen.

Clonmel won the Mansergh Cup Final with a 6-5 victory over Kilfeacle at Cashel. Pat Ryan gave Kilfeacle the lead with a try but a penalty in each half by Conor Cooney saw Clonmel lift the trophy.

Bandon will play Kanturk in the final of the O’Neill Cup at Rathcooney next Saturday evening after the West Cork side defeated Ballincollig 28-13. Tries by Kevin South and Jerry Crowley and a conversion and two penalties by South had Bandon 18-6 ahead at half time. Kevin Ryan replied with two penalties for the visitors. South added a try, conversion and penalty in the second half and Danny Gleeson scored a try for Ballincollig and Ryan converted.

Newcastle West won the O’Carroll Plate final with a 6-3 win over Fethard at Kilballyowen Park. The sides were level 3-3 at half time. Conor Whelan kicked two penalties for the winners and Ritchie Carroll replied with one for the Tipperary side.

Carrigaline defeated Dungarvan 52-28 to reach the semi final of the Dave Dineen Cup. Roy Murphy got two tries for the winners and Sean Masterson, Sean Lucey, Wesley Bonny, Tony O’Keeffe and Kevin Foley got one each. Donnacha Kiely kicked seven conversions and a penalty. Liam Phelan two and Cormac Condon and Cillian Corkery were Dungarvan’s try scorers and Condon converted all four.

Killarney will meet Carrigaline in the semi final after their 19-18 home win over Clonakilty. Damien Carroll got two tries for the winners and Connie O’Leary one. Cian Kingston converted two of the tries. Paul O’Donovan, Donal Duignan and Richard Gaskin replied with tries for Clonakilty and Pat Noonan kicked a penalty.

Old Christians and Mallow will meet in the semi final of the Kelly Cup. Old Christians defeated Ballincollig 18-6 with tries from Gavin Murphy and Brefni O’Callaghan and a conversion and two penalties by Aidan Tobin. Conor McCarthy replied with two penalties for the home side.

Conor O’Donovan and Stephen Neville scored tries for Mallow in their 18-10 away win over Youghal. Martin O’Connor added a conversion and two penalties.

A try by Owen Burke and a conversion and four penalties by Ritchie Barry was enough for Mitchelstown to defeat Crosshaven 19-12 to book their place in the final of the McCarthy Cup where they will meet Cork Transport.
