Young Munster and Garryowen to contest Limerick Charity Cup Final as both Dolphin and Cashel advance to the semi-finals of the Cork Charity Cup.

Holders Young Munster reached the final of the Limerick Charity Cup with a 20-3 away win over Nenagh Ormond.

A first-half try from Dan Walsh and a conversion and penalty by Paul Downes gave the visitors a 13-3 half-time lead. Eathon Moloney kicked a penalty for Nenagh.

The only score of the second half was a penalty try which Paul Downes converted.

In the final, Young Munster will face Garryowen after the Light Blues defeated Shannon 16-13 at Coonagh in the other semi-final.

The hero for Garryowen was Neill Cronin who got all their points: a try, conversion and three penalties.

Shannon replied with a try from Conor McGlynn. Fionn McGibney kicked a conversion and a penalty and Ronan McKenna also added a penalty.

Dolphin will face Highfield in the semi-final of the Cork Charity Cup after their 32-22 win over neighbours Sunday’s Well.

Dolphin led 15-0 at the interval with tries from John Fitzgerald and Barry Fitzgerald and Cillian Monaghan kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Five penalties from Shane O’Riordan brought the sides level after sixty five minutes but Dolphin responded with a penalty from Monaghan and he converted tries from Karl Keogh and Will Hanly before Greg Higgins scored a try for the ‘Well in injury time and O’Riordan converted.

Cashel defeated Kanturk 20-17 to book their place in the semi-final.

St. Senan’s defeated Bruff 24-12 to reach the semi-final of the Transfield Cup after their home win over Bruff.
Declan Rowe scored two tries, three conversions and a penalty for Senan’s. Brian Collins also scored a try for the Clare side.

Holder’s Richmond are also through to the last four after a 51-10 home win over St. Mary’s.

It was a close first half with Richmond leading 15-10 at the interval. Kieran Bennett and Eoghan Hanly each scored two tries and Barry McNamara, Gareth O’Hanlon, Keelan Stephenson and Brian Bennett got one each. Brian Bennett kicked three conversions and a penalty and Tadgh Bennett also added a conversion.

Stephen Frawley replied with a try for Mary’s which Paul O’Loughlin converted. Gregg Barry kicked a penalty.
