Weekend Club Preview And Fixtures

There is very little senior rugby this weekend with both Charity Cup Finals in Cork and Limerick to be decided.

Cork Charity Cup holders Cork Constitution go head to head with Dolphin at Woodleigh Park on Saturday but both sides will be more worried about their upcoming Ulster Bank League clash.

In Limerick both Thomond and Garryowen have made good starts to their league campaigns and this Limerick Charity Cup Final could go down to the wire.

There is another series of games across all three divisions in the Munster Junior League.

The game of the day sees Clonakilty and Clonmel locking horns in a top of the table clash in Division 1 at The Vale with both sides putting unbeaten runs on the line.

Newcastle West, who are also among the early pacesetters, should have little difficulty in seeing off Old Christians at the West Limerick venue.

Surprise packets Muskerry will be looking to continue their promising start to the campaign as they take on struggling Cobh Pirates in a Cork derby at Ballyanly.

Skibbereen will have their work cut out as they welcome St Mary’s to the Carbery Showgrounds and Tralee, who are still without a win, face a tricky task as they take on Galbally at the County Limerick venue.

St Senan’s make the long trip to Ballinakill to take on Waterpark in a mid-table clash and Kinsale face a tough assignment away to Kilfeacle.

Division 2 joint leaders Bandon will be aiming to make it three wins from three as they entertain Presentation at Old Chapel.

Castleisland put their unbeaten run on the line as they travel to the Banner County to take on Ennis.

Clanwilliam, who are also bidding to return to the top flight are away to Waterford City and will be confident of making it three wins from three.

Thurles will be looking to keep their aspirations of promotion on track as they welcome Abbeyfeale to the Premier County and Mallow go head to head with Newport in a mid-table encounter at St Joseph’s Road.

Youghal will be looking to make the most of home advantage count in a bid to record their first win as they entertain Killarney and Crosshaven lock horns with Ballincollig in a basement clash at Myrtleville Cross.

Charleville begin their Division 3 campaign against Douglas at Moneygourney and the home side will be boosted by last week bonus point victory against Carrigaline.

Dungarvan will be aiming to leapfrog Fermoy in the table as they take on the North Cork side at Ballyrandle.

Killorglin, who were relegated from Division 2, should make life difficult for Bantry Bay at the West Cork venue, with the Kerry side looking to grind out a win after claiming a losing bonus point from last weekend’s 14-8 home defeat against Dungarvan.

Carrigaline make the long trip to East Clare to take on Scariff in a game which sees both sides seeking their first points.
