Weekend Club Preview And Fixtures

The Ulster Bank All Ireland League continues this weekend with a full programme of games across all four Divisions.

In Division 1A, Cork Constitution welcome Old Belvedere to Temple Hill with both sides tied on 19 points. The home side will be looking to make the most of home advantage in a bid to finish in the top four and avenge their 24-8 defeat by Belvo’ when these sides met at Anglesea Road on the opening day of the campaign in September.

Young Munster, who are in sixth place, entertain defending champions Clontarf at Tom Clifford Park and the Limerick side will looking to avenge their opening day defeat when ‘Tarf ran out 37-19 winners at Castle Avenue.

Bottom side Dolphin will be looking to record their first win of the campaign as they take on former champions Lansdowne at Irish Independent Park. The Dublin side won the opening day fixture 37-6 when these sides met at the Aviva Stadium in September.

Garryowen, who are in third place in Division 1B, face a tricky task in their bid for a quick return to the top flight as they lock horns with leaders Galwegians at Dooradoyle.

UL Bohemian are away to Corinthians, with both sides hovering above the drop zone, and Shannon will be looking to make home advantage count in their battle against relegation as they take on Malone at Coonagh.

Thomond, who are fourth in Division 2A, face a tough assignment as they aim to keep their aspirations of a second successive promotion on track as they travel to the Capital to take on second-placed Blackrock College at Stradbrook.

The two Tipperary sides in this division are away to Dublin opposition as Cashel take on leaders Old Wesley at Donnybrook and Nenagh Ormond take on struggling Seapoint in Killiney.

UCC welcome Queen’s University to the Mardyke after their great win over NUMI Barnhall last week.

Highfield will be looking to extend their lead at the top of Division 2B as they take on bottom side Ards at Woodleigh Park.

Two Limerick sides at the foot of the table face tough assignments as Old Crescent welcome second-placed Sligo to Rosbrien and Richmond, who are second form bottom, are away to Navan.

Kanturk will be looking to make home advantage count as they aim to grind out a maximum point home win in a bid to maintain their AIL status.

Bruff and Midleton will be aiming to keep their outside challenges for promotion intact as Bruff entertain Wanderers at Kilballyowen Park and the east Cork side make the long trip north to take on City of Armagh.

There is also a full programme of games in the top two divisions of the Munster Junior League.

Division 1 leaders Newcastle West host Cobh Pirates and will be aiming to avenge their recent defeat in the Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup when these sides met in East Cork three weeks previously.

Second-placed Clonmel will be looking to keep their title challenge on track as they travel to Ballinakill to take on Waterpark.

Third-placed Clonakilty are away to fourth-placed Muskerry in a Cork derby with both sides aiming for a top four finish.

Kinsale, who are propping up the table, face a tricky task as they travel to the Carbery Showgrounds to take on Skibbereen and fellow strugglers Tralee are away to St Senan’s.

Galbally take on Kilfeacle at the County Limerick venue and St Mary’s entertain Old Christians in a mid-table encounter at Grove Island.

Bandon will be looking to extend their lead at the top of Division 2 as they travel to East Cork to take on struggling Youghal.

Bottom side Crosshaven, who are still without a win, will have their work cut out as they travel to North Cork to take on Mallow, whose aspirations of a quick return to the top flight have been severely dented by successive defeats against Bandon and Presentation.

Promotion chasing Castleisland will be looking to get back to winning ways after last week's 15-3 away defeat by Clanwilliam as they entertain near neighbours Killarney in a Kerry derby.

Clanwilliam will be looking to keep their quest for promotion on track as they travel to West Limerick to take on Abbeyfeale.

Thurles, who are also in the promotion race, host Premier County neighbours Newport and Ballincollig, who are two places above the relegation zone, make the long trip to the Banner County to take on Ennis.
