Weekend Club Preview

The Ulster Bank All Ireland League resumes this Saturday with a full programme of games across all four divisions.

Dolphin, who are propping up the table in Division 1A, will be looking to make the most of home advantage as they welcome Old Belvedere to Irish Independent Park. These sides played out a 22-22 draw at Anglesea Road in November.

Cork Constitution travel to Limerick to take on Young Munster at Tom Clifford Park and the Temple Hill side will be aiming to avenge last November’s 9-6 defeat in their bid to finish in the top four, while the Limerick side desperately need the points to stay clear of relegation.

Garryowen who are second in Division 1B travel to the Capital to take on third-placed Dublin University at College Park. The Limerick side will be aiming to reverse November’s 14-8 defeat at Dooradoyle as they aim to make a quick return to the top flight.

Shannon will be aiming to avenge last November’s defeat by Belfast Harlequins at Thomond Park as they make the long trip north to take on the Belfast side in a clash that could see the losers back in the relegation battle.

UL Bohemian take on Malone in a basement clash and the Annacotty side were defeated 23-10 when these sides met in Belfast.

In Division 2A sixth-placed Cashel are away to bottom side Dungannon and Tipperary neighbours Nenagh Ormond, who are tenth and just above the relegation places, host fourth-placed Queen’s University.

UCC face a tricky task in their bid to avoid the drop as they take on Thomond at Liam Fitzgerald Park.

Division 2B leaders Highfield will be aiming to preserve their unbeaten run as they travel to the Royal County to take on struggling Navan.

Leeside neighbours Sunday’s Well will be looking to keep their outside promotion hopes intact as they travel to Limerick to take on Richmond, who are second from bottom.

Old Crescent entertain bottom side Ards and Kanturk travel to County Wicklow to take on Greystones.

Bruff are at home to Midleton with both sides still in with a chance of promotion.

The Munster Junior League continues with the second last series of games in Divisions 1 and 2 down for decision, as well as a Munster Junior Plate tie between Killorglin and Old Crescent in the Kingdom.

Crosshaven, who are rooted to the bottom of Division 2 get proceedings underway as they go head to head with Castleisland at Myrtleville Cross on Saturday.

In Division 1 leaders Clonmel will be aiming to take another step closer to the title and add to the Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup which was won against Cobh Pirates in Fermoy last week as they welcome the East Cork side to South Tipperary.

Second-placed Newcastle West are away to Muskerry, who are in fourth place and the Sky Blues, will be aiming to make the most of home advantage count in their bid to finish in the top four.

Third-placed St Senan’s who are also playing for a top four finish, make the long trip to West Cork to take on Clonakilty and fifth-placed Kilfeacle, who are a point behind Muskerry will be aiming to keep their hopes of a top four finish intact as they entertain St Mary’s.

Kinsale who are already relegated are at home to fellow strugglers Tralee.

Old Christians will be aiming to take another step closer to safety as they take on Skibbereen at the West Cork venue and Galbally welcome Waterpark to County Limerick.

Division 2 leaders Bandon, who are already promoted, entertain second-placed Clanwilliam and the West Cork side will be aiming to add the Division 2 title to the Junior Clubs’ Challenge Shield, which was won against Mallow in Ballincollig. Bandon hold an 11-point advantage over the Tipperary Town side.

Fourth-placed Mallow host third-placed Thurles and Waterford City go head to head with Abbeyfeale in a mid-table clash at Kilbarry.

Ballincollig entertain Newport with both sides needing one more win to be sure of avoiding relegation, while Killarney face a tricky task in their battle against the drop as they travel to Limerick to take on Presentation.

Youghal, who are hovering above the danger zone, will be looking to make home advantage count and grind out a valuable win from their meeting with Ennis.
