Victory For Munster Schools

Munster Schools got their Interprovincial campaign underway at the Sportsgrounds in Galway with a 24-3 win.

Connacht who had lost to Ulster on Saturday put it up to Munster, sponsored by Trend Micro, with two penalties from captain Bill Johnston giving the visitors a 6-3 half-time lead.

It was in the final quarter of the game that Munster took control with their pack outstanding, particularly prop James Kendrick.

Center Alex McHenry and winger Calvin Nash scored two excellent tries in the final ten minutes to seal the win.

Johnston converted one of the tries and also added two second half penalties to ensure an opening day win for the Schools selection.
