Ulster Bank League Roundup

Nenagh Ormond have won the Division 2B Ulster Bank League title as well as gaining promotion, while Old Crescent will be joining Bruff in Division 2B next season following their relegation from Division 2A.

Nenagh Ormond continued their unbeaten run in Division 2B with a 51-0 home win over bottom side Suttonians.

Thomond have moved into second place on points difference after their 36-10 victory over Midleton at Liam Fitzgerald Park. Substitute Michael Ryan scored two late tries for Thomond with Dermot Fitzgerald, Brendan Guilfoyle, Wayne Mullally and Wayne Diarmuid Ryan getting their other tries. Fitzgerald kicked three conversions. Midleton skipper Rob Smyth gave Midleton and early lead with a try and Christian Walker added a conversion and a penalty.

Richmond came close to denying Skerries a bonus point but an injury time try saw the Dublin side win out 27-10.

Sunday’s Well lost away to Boyne 19-7.

In Division 1A Cork Constitution defeated Lansdowne 24-18 on the main Aviva Stadium pitch. Con’ opened the scoring with a try from James Ryan which Darragh Lyons converted. Lansdowne hit back to lead 13-7 but with two players in the sin-bin coming up to half time Con’ were awarded a penalty try and Lyons converted for a 14-13 interval lead.
A second try from Lansdowne saw them retake the lead but in a blistering finish Chris Quinn scored a try for Con’ and Lyons converted and also added a penalty to see Con’ move into third spot.

Clontarf put an end to Garryowen's recent surge in form when they strolled to a comfortable 32-12 win at Dooradoyle.
Alan Gaughan had Garryowen in front with a try which Alan O'Byrne converted and Shane Buckley scored their other try.

Ballynahinch recorded their third win of the campaign with a 36-3 home win over Young Munster. Brian Haugh kicked a penalty for the Limerick side.

St. Mary’s College defeated Dolphin 20-7 at Templeville Road. The home side led 3-0 at half time. John Gleeson scored Dolphin’s try and Rory Scannell converted.

Corinthians kept up their challenge for second spot in Division 1B with a 12-8 home win over U.L. Bohemian. The Galway side led 12-5 at half time with Shane Airey scoring a try UL Bohes and Robbie Bourke kicked a penalty.

Terenure were full value for their big 24-5 win against Shannon on the first game at this level to be played on the newly resurfaced back pitch at Thomond Park.
Tries by Ian Hanley, Kyle McCoy and Robert Duke spoiled the Shannon return to their spiritual home.
Mark O'Neill landed three penalties and James Murphy had Shannon's try.

U.C.C. kept up their challenge for promotion from Division 2A with a 38-0 away win over Bruff. Charlie O'Regan, Ned Hodson, Joe Holland, Cian O'Halloran and Seamus Glynn scored tries for the students and Sean Og Murphy kicked 5 conversions and a penalty.

A try from Tavita Taoie was not enough for Old Crescent who lost at home to Cashel 16-5. A result that will mean relegation for the Rosbrien side. Cashel were awarded a penalty try and Darragh O’Brien kicked three penalties and a conversion.

Highfield are in the relegation play off place after they lost to Naas 20-11.
