It was a good weekend for the majority of the Munster sides in the Ulster Bank League with ten of the sixteen sides winning.

In Division 1A Young Munster under the guidance of new Coach David Corkery made a winning start to his time at Clifford Park with a 20-18 home win over Old Belvedere.
Winger James O'Connor got Young Munster off to a flying start with a third minute try.
At times it seemed as if their former star Willie Staunton had come back to haunt them for Halloween when he landed an Old Belvedere penalty.
Gearoid Lyons kicked a Young Munster penalty and home supporters gave their biggest cheer of the day to a try by Dan Goggin after superb play by Lyons who gathered his own box kick to send the centre over.
Staunton kicked a second penalty and just before halftime Danny Riordan had a Belvo try to have the home side 15-11 in front.
Fullback Michael Vaughan pushed the home side 20-11 clear but a penalty try for a high tackle which Staunton converted set up a tense finish.

Cork Constitution moved back into a challenging position for a top four finish after their 32-23 home win over Ballynahinch.
Despite falling behind 8-0 in the opening minutes a Darragh Lyons try and a conversion and three penalties by Tomas Quinlan gave Con’ a 16-11 interval lead. James Murphy added a second try after the break and Quinlan converted and added three penalties.

Lansdowne got back to winning ways with a 17-10 home win over Garryowen. Andrew O'Byrne scored Garryowen’s try and Neil Cronin converted and also added a penalty.

Tadgh Bennett brought his kicking boots to the back pitch at Thomond Park. He kicked six penalties and converted a try by Will Leonard to give Shannon a 25-17 home win over Old Wesley in their Division 1B clash.

U.L. Bohemian caused a big shock at Stradbrook defeating Blackrock College 21-14.
Jamie McNamara scored two tries for the Limerick side Robbie Bourke kicked a conversion and three penalties to ease their relegation worries.

Dolphin defeated Buccaneers 24-23 to record their first home win of the campaign.
Shane McAuliffe's and Cian Bohane were Dolphin’s try scorers and Rory Scannell kicked a conversion and four penalties.


Cashel suffered their first defeat of the season losing 29-18 at home to Malone but still remain top of Division 2A.

At Liam Fitzgerald Park Thomond moved off the foot of the table with a 33-20 home win over Nenagh Ormond. Jamie McGarry, Fiach O'Loughlin, Niall Sheehan, and O O'Carroll scored tries for Thomond and F McGibney kicked three penalties and two conversions. Nenagh replied with tries from Anthony Kavanagh, Will O'Connor and Derek Corcoran. Jack Mollumphy kicked a conversion and a penalty.

U.C.C. picked up three points after they shared the spoils with Queens University in Belfast after they played a 34-34 draw. Kevin Slater, Guilaume, Baude, Tim Clifford, Conor Barry and Eddie Earl all scored tries for the Cork students and Kevin O’Keeffe added a penalty and three conversions.

Highfield were pushed all the way by bottom side Seapoint at Woodleigh Park before emerging 14-3 winners and they still remain second in Division 2B. They were awarded a penalty try and Paul Stack also scored a try with Dylan Horgan converting both.

Sunday’s Well have moved into fourth place following their 35-17 away win over Bective Rangers at Donnybrook. Greg Higgins scored two tries for the Cork side and Ross O’Mahony, John Moynihan and David Heaphy also scored tries. Shane O’Riordan kicked two penalties and two conversions.

Old Crescent lost top spot in Division 2C to Wanderers after the Dublin side defeated them 25-24 at Rosbrien. Larry Hanley, Shane O'Brien and C O'Reilly all scored tries. They were also awarded a penalty try. Hanley kicked two conversions.

Midleton edged out Bruff 25-22 in an exciting contest at Kilballyowen Park. Sean White scored a try for the East Cork side and Stuart Lee kicked a conversion and six penalties. Dave Horan replied with a try for Bruff and Tony Cahill converted and added five penalties,

Kanturk lost away to Navan 24-3 with Mark Healy kicking their only score.
