Schools Blitz at Thomond RFC

Munster Rugby recently hosted a 7-a-side Leprechaun Schools blitz for fifth and sixth class school pupils from Caherdavin, Scoil Iosagain, St Munchin’s Boys, Scoil Ide, JFK and Corpus Christi at Thomond RFC.

The focus of the day was to promote rugby in the Northside area of Limerick.

Thomond RFC has a long and proud reputation for the introduction and development of young players and the majority of participants at the blitz were already involved in rugby within the club.

Munster Rugby are currently running regular sessions in these schools so this blitz was a great opportunity for participants to further develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the game whilst the main emphasis was on having fun.

All participating children were presented with Munster posters, pens and key rings for all their efforts and determination on the day. The winners; Caherdavin N.S. received three rugby balls for their school.

Munster Rugby would like to thank Thomond RFC for the use of their facilities on the day.
