Rob Penney Visits Munster Rugby Talent Camp

Munster Director Of Rugby Rob Penney paid a visit to the players attending the Munster Rugby Talent Camp at Rockwell College yesterday.

Penney, former Head Coach of the New Zealand U20 side, addressed the 110 players and coaches at the camp and complimented them all on their commitment and dedication to the programme.

He spoke on the behaviours and lifestyle changes players have to make going from club/school level to full time representative rugby and focused on the resilience and mental toughness required to compete at the highest level.

Stressing on the importance of education, Rob Penney advised players to hold academic aspirations as well as social friendships to develop themselves as well-rounded individuals.

Penny stated that to achieve rugby success, players must always have a strong inner self-belief in their own abilities while constantly striving to improve on their game technically (skills) and tactfully (game appreciation).

The Munster Rugby Talent Camps will finish today following five weeks of intense training programmes. All players (U20, U19, U18 clubs and U18 schools) will undergo a series of pre interpro friendly match ahead of the series commencing this September.
