Referees Appointed For Munster Schools Cups

The referee appointments have been made ahead of the Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cups opening round beginning next Tuesday.

Aidan McInerney will officiate the competition opener when Junior Cup reigning champions Christian Brothers College take on Crescent College Comprehensive at Thomond Park Stadium.

Crescent College and CBC will also open the Senior Cup competition at Thomond Park which will be refereed by Tommy O’Donoghue.

There are two female referees involved in the first round of the championship which sees former Munster and Ireland women’s player Joy Neville selected to officiate the Senior Cup local derby between Ardscoil Rís and St. Munchin’s College.

Her former Munster and Ireland colleague Amanda Greensmith will take charge of the St. Clements v Presentation Brothers College Junior Cup fixture at Rosbrien.

Robert O’Sullivan will referee Rockwell College’s opening match against Bandon Grammar School in the Senior Cup as the Tipperary school bid to defend their title at Clanwilliam Park.

Richard Horgan and Shane Kierans will officiate the remaining Senior Cup fixtures between St. Clements who host Presentation Brothers College and Glenstal Abbey School who take on Castletroy College.

John Adams, Patrick Ryan and Michael Doyle have been appointed the remaining Junior Cup first round matches that include Glenstal Abbey School, Castletroy College, Rockwell College, Bandon Grammar School, Ardscoil Rís and St. Munchin’s College.
