Old Christians Girls Give It A Try

Old Christians RFC launched their Girls section last Saturday with the help of Irish Internationals Heather O’Brien and Fiona Hayes and Munster Rugby Women’s Community Rugby Officer Amanda Greensmith.

There were plenty of games and activities on the day with both Heather and Fiona getting stuck in helping the girls learn new skills as well as having plenty of fun.

Girls on the day ranged from the mini groups of 6-12 year-olds to girls aged 13 and up. Fiona and Heather also passed on their knowledge on everything from training and nutrition to what it takes to play for Munster and Ireland.

Following the session, Old Christians made a presentation to the girls in recognition of their efforts on the international stage and as a mark of appreciation for their help. A special thanks goes to girls co-ordinator Claire O’Brien for her help in getting the teams up and running in the club.
