Munster U18 Schools Side Named For Italy

The Munster U18 Schools side, sponsored by Trend Micro, has been named to face Italy U18s on Tuesday, 16th August, at Thomond Park Stadium (ko 7pm) in a pre Interprovincial warm up friendly.

Head Coach Fiach O’Loughlin has named Josh Wycherley from Tipperary’s Cistercian College Roscrea at loosehead prop joining CBC duo Daniel O’Connor and tighthead prop Luke Masters in the front row.

CBC’s Cian Hurley has been named along with Fintan Colman from Crescent College in the second row.

Colin Deane from Bandon Grammar will captain the side and joins Crescent’s Daniel Feasey and Luke Clohessy from Ard Scoil Rís in the backrow.

Half backs Craig Casey (Ard Scoil Rís) and Ben Healy (Glenstal Abbey) will also line up in the first XV along with centres Luke Fitzgerald (Glenstal Abbey) and Seán French (PBC).

Wingers JD O’Hea from CBC, Crescent’s Conor Phillips and PBC full back Jonathon Wren have also been named to complete the starting side.

Five CBC players have been named in the replacements who include Anthony Ryan, Finn Burke, Ben Roche, Colin Sisk and Eoin Monaghan.

They join replacement hooker George Downing from Glenstal Abbey as well as props Mark O’Driscoll from St. Munchin’s College and James McCarthy of Ard Scoil Rís on the bench.

Backs Cian Fitzgerald (PBC), Paul Clancy (Castletroy College) and Ben Moloney (Glenstal Abbey) have also all been named in the replacements.

The squad are in the final week of their Talent Camp training and kick off their Interprovincial Series against Ulster on Friday, 26th August at Perry Park (ko 4pm).
