Munster Senior Cup Quarter-Final Weekend

The Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup has reached the quarter-final stage with four games taking place at 2.30pm on Saturday.

Three of the ties take place in Cork with the other pitting Young Munster against Shannon in a Limerick derby at Tom Clifford Park.

The Senior Cup is Munster's oldest competition and was first played in 1886 with Cork Con dominating the competition in recent years.

The Temple Hill Club are seeking to make it five-in-a-row this season and host Tipperary side Nenagh Ormond, who are flying high in Division 2A of the All Ireland League.

The winners of that tie will have home advantage at the semi-final stage against the victors of the Highfield v Old Crescent clash at Woodleigh Park with the Cork side marginal favourites in that one.

UCC, who have not won the trophy since 1981, host Cashel at the Mardyke with the Students tipped to come out on top against a Cashel side that have yet to fire so far this season.

The prize for winning that quarter-final will be a home semi-final against Young Munster or Shannon with the Cookies expected to overcome the Division 1B club.
